“An intolerable and unsustainable situation.” We hear you.

We don’t believe anyone should be sat frustrated in a hospital when they can be at home. And we know you don’t either.
A flurry of NHS Trusts declared critical incidents over the festive period, bed occupancy is at a “record level”, and Social Workers are taking on more cases than ever before. We agree with Professor Phil Banfield, the chairman of the BMA council that “immediate action” is needed.
It’s why right now, we can help you unlock pressures across your hospital and community settings. With over 4500 vetted and ready-to-work carers, Elder can support the delivery of essential social care following a hospital stay - improving bed capacity and prioritising one-to-one care.
We deliver both on-going and short-term support, and care can be arranged in just 24 hours. We can support those in receipt of Direct Payments/ Self directed support payments too.

Preparing for the final tranche of the Discharge and Workforce Fund
Last year the government announced a £500m Discharge and Workforce Fund for ICBs and Local Authorities to speed up patient discharge in a way that works for them. This could be through purchasing supportive technologies, or bolstering social care capacity. The final tranche of funding is due to be allocated this month. So, if prioritising home care forms a significant part of your winter plan, we’d welcome an opportunity to discuss how we can work together to create a cost effective package of support. |

Solving winter staffing pressures on the Isle of Wight
“Elder’s care workers have aided our independent providers and also our own internal services, to not only maintain but also increase their capacity. This has enabled them to open beds and ensure the delivery of home care, which has supported hospital discharges and the flow within the system as a whole.”

Making home a safe place to be
“Elder has been supplying live-in care for my friend Pat for nearly a year, since she came out of hospital. They have been brilliant, supplying relief carers when the regular carer had her break, and it has given family and friends peace of mind, knowing Pat was cared for and in safe hands, and given Pat security having someone there in case of little health problems.”
